All of our grass pitches are huge and can accommodate most sized tents, up to a small circus marquee. Each pitch is surrounded by uncut grass and shrubs, left to grow wild so that they provide habitats for wildlife and dappled shade for our campers. This also provides great screening from neighboring campers. We happily limit the numbers on each pitch and avoid groups. This helps to maintain the tranquility of the site, so you will leave feeling rested and connected with the natural world.

Built from locally sourced wooden laths of ash and clad in a heavy duty waterproof sail canvas it will happily sleep up to 4 people plus 2 extras on roll mats inside.
Alternatively pitch a tent alongside The Gridshell, which is located in the Orchard part of the campsite and comes with its own firepit and a large grass area to camp on. Our Tree Tent was the first in England and the inventor Jason Thawley is based at The Secret Campsite where you can see more of his amazing creations.
Access is via wooden stairs, and the tent is suspended between three sturdy oak trees on the edge of the ancient woodland that surrounds the camping meadow.
From the two windows you can enjoy views across the campsite and up on to the South Downs National Park between Lewes and Brighton.
Our Tree Tent has its own grass area where you can pitch a tent for up to 4 extra campers, (no more than 4 adults in total, to keep the site peaceful). The Tree tent pitch has its own campfire firepit, where you can cook, chat and marvel at the stars, as the wildlife goes to sleep… or starts to wake up.
