I have just watched a fantastic aerial battle between 3 buzzards and 3 Rooks over the ancient Sussex woodland that lies to the North of the Secret Campsite. The 3 buzzards flew in quite low over the tops of the ancient stand of oak trees seemingly casing the joint for any easy pickings from the nests. I suspect that these nests are starting to be filled with eggs laid by the female rooks from the rookery to the north of the Bank area of the campsite. Once the buzzards had broken their cover 2 of the rooks flew out to mob them followed by a third  a few seconds later. The birds wheeled around in the air for a few minutes with the buzzards circling as the rooks bombed them from above. It was very exciting with the Buzzards eventually flying off empty beaked.
