Nick who owns the beautiful sussex woods that adjoin the secret campsite has just completed a short survey fo species he has seen in the area over the last month July 1st-3rd August.

It is quite an impressive list and features the following species:

Brimstone

Brown Argus

Clouded Yellow

Comma

Common Blue

Gatekeeper

Green-veined White

Large Skipper

Large White

Marbled White

Meadow Brown

Painted Lady

Peacock

Purple Hairstreak

Red Admiral

Ringlet

Silver Washed Fritillary

Small Copper

Small Heath

Small Skipper

Small Tortoishell

Small White

Speckled Wood

White Admiral

The Glow worms are still about in the long grass and on the railway track that leads up to the Royal Oak in Barcombe,  although their numbers are starting to dwindle as the end of the showing off season approaches.
