This weekend I sowed the first of our autumn seeds with my youngest daughter. With most of our sowing due to take place in the new year we kept it simple this autumn by planting Agrimony Agromonia eupatoria which will be used for making a refreshing tea, Wild garlic Allium ursimum which in time will naturalise around the site and provide interesting additions to spring salads as well as for making end of winter soups. Finally we planted Sweet Cicely Myrrhis odorata which can be eaten raw and has a sweet aniseed flavour. It can also be added to vegetables as a flavouring and the leaves can be used to make a tea.

As the season progresses more of these plants will be avaialbel to our campers during their stay, not to mention the fruits and leaves from existing plants around the site.
