We have teamed up with the exciting designer James Noble to bring one of his brilliant sleepy wagons up to our Sussex campsite. The Arkette is commonly mistaken for a shepherds hut, but this delightful trailer was never destined to spend nights on the windswept hills whilst the resident shepherd watched over his flock from a little mobile hut. Instead, it has been beautifully created from a recycled farm trailer chassis and kitted out with a double bed, a work surface and a small open air porch for evening relaxation. Best of all the Arketter, a modern take on the classic shepherds hut, has its very own woodburner for those cooler autumn and the spring evenings, or even a romantic christmas eve getaway. To compliment its forward thinking design the roof has been covered with recycled and flattened aluminium cans to keep it watertight. There is a large canopy to keep the sun off you as you wind down on a hot summer evening. The Arkette will be joining us in March and should be ready for guests to stay in at the campsite by Easter, so I suspect that the woodburner will be busy from day one. We’ll let you know once it is ready, so please get in touch if you would like to be one of the first guests to stay in our quirky Shepherds Hut at the Secret Campsite.

Have a look at the photos and let me know what you think.
