Today I met up with Michael Blencowe from Sussex Wildlife Trust to discuss our plans fro the secret Wildlife Festival in a few weeks time.
We made our annual walk around the wildlife reserve at Woods Mill in West Sussex finalising who would be doing talks on what and as we were approaching the large meadow, Michael pointed out the kestrel box that the trust had put up which was now home to a small family of kestrels. One of the parents flew out to hunt and we watched for a while to see if the chicks would stick their beaks out, but nothing happened so we carried on walking.
We have a family of kestrels at the secret campsite who are often seen hovering over the camping meadow waiting to pounce on one of the shrews or mice living in the meadow. It is a beautiful site
