Secret Wildlife Festival

We have just finalised the schedule for this weekends Wildlife Festival at the Secret campsite run by Sussex Wildlife Trust.

I’m putting up the marquee later in the week with Michael Blencowe, as we will need some shelter from the sunshine that is forecast for the weekend. Here goes…

Friday 3rd July

15:00 Campsite opens / campers arrive

19:30 Introduction to the weekend.

19:45 Early evening wildlife walk around the campsite and surrounding area.

20:15 Setting the Small Mammal Traps

20:45 Setting up the trail cameras

21:00 Fire up the Moth Trap!

22:00 Wildlife Walk: Searching for Bats, Glow worms and other nocturnal animals

22:30 Campfire

Saturday 4th July

07:30 Early morning bird walk

08:30 Opening up the Small Mammal Traps

08:45 Look at the trail camera footage

09:30 Moth Trap Opening

10:30 Family Wildlife Walk in Knowlands Wood or

10:30 Children’s woodcraft activities at the camp

14:00 Bug Hunt and Pond Dipping for Children

15:30 Making Mud Faces

16:00 Herbal Medicine talk and walk

19:00 Children’s Woodcraft Activities

20:30 Setting the Small Mammal Traps

21:00 Fire up the Moth Trap

21:10 Evening walk looking and listening for bats and owls
