I have just been sent a fantastic array of activities that campers staying at The Secret Campsite could do as a way of getting closer to nature. The Full list is available via the following link but my favourites are the following:
Looking at the stars
Making a twig raft and following it downstream
Stalking a Heathland Tiger
Counting blue butterflies
Looking closely at something wild
Now that the blackberry season is well underway we have been watching lots of young secret campers with red and purple faces returning from forays into the sussex hedgerows and along the dismantled railway track that leads up to the village of Barcombe, 1 mile from the campsite. The apples are also starting to ripen around the campsite along with sloes, hazelnuts, elderberries, pears damsons and plums.
